Humanthology is a social platform for safely sharing personal stories on topics that matter. Our members contribute their first-hand experiences on the important issues that shape their lives, whether it’s a personal struggle like anorexia, a national event like Hurricane Sandy, or a policy debate like health care. Personal stories deepen understanding and strengthen compassion.
Humanthology starts where Wikipedia ends. Collecting stories from a range of perspectives, we offer a multi-dimensional perspective of the world around us and together we explore what it means to be human. Our high-quality personal stories drive a collective wisdom, which fosters connectivity, deepens understanding, and inspires action.
As of the end of Summer 2014, Humanthology is no longer actively soliciting stories and growing its community base. As important as Humanthology is to each one of us personally and as a business, we are sad to say that we have not been able to scale the product and our membership base fast enough to secure additional funding.
I whole-heartedly believe in the power of storytelling, perhaps now even stronger than when I started Humanthology. As a result, I will continue to be working to identify a stronger product market fit and value proposition related to the ever-important personal stories within each of us.
It is heartbreaking to be putting Humanthology and our wonderful community in pause mode. It is also heartbreaking for me to lose one of the best teams I have ever worked with. But I cannot thank all of you enough who dove into Humanthology and joined us in this journey. Hopefully Humanthology will be back soon.
Keep telling your story,
Valerie
